21-Day Fast —- 2021

I have ended a 21-day full fast, which I do it every year as a lifestyle, on top of a weekly fast (which I do it 1-day per week).

Even though I have done this for many years (more than a decade), I still find it challenging. And that’s the key. It causes me to depend on God and lean on Him.

Fasting does not bring any increase of power and whatsoever. Fasting is simply a tool (not the only tool) for us to stay focused and be intentionally conscious of Him. It helps me... at least for me.

I had to stop all swimming regime. I had to experience weight loss and muscle loss. Almost all athletes and/or bodybuilders would NEVER do this kind of full fast, because they don’t ever want to lose their muscles and stamina, which they have developed overtime. In fact, most of them are addicted to their exercises and bodies. They cannot let go.

For me, it is a test of my devotion. God must be my priority. Even though I have to re-start my swimming regime and weight gain EVERY TIME after an extended fast, I still do it. For I want to intentionally be devoted to Him.

By His grace, I will keep on keeping on. Thank You Jesus!

Truth Taught Is Better

Ministry done by faith gets people ministered.

Truth taught by faith gets people to be empowered to minister so that others are ministered.

The former looks good on the preacher.
The latter looks good in heaven.

A Senior Pastor asked, “Are you going to call out individuals through word of knowledge in the service? I’m totally okay for you to do that.”

I replied, “No. We don’t need word of knowledge in a live service setting. God wants all to be healed, not specific individuals. If we call out individuals, those who are not called will think that it’s not their time to be healed. That is untrue. We’ll just call ALL who need healing to respond. And we get the people around them to minister healing so that they are empowered and people’s eyes are set on the God of men, instead of Man of God.

To Take Or Not To Take Vaccination Part 2

To Take Or Not To Take Vaccination Part 2

As mentioned in the previous post, each one has his own conviction in choosing whether he wants to take or not take the Covid-19 vaccination, as long as his decision is based on faith and good conscience.

With my personal past history with God, my conscience does not allow me to take.

I know that we can quote Luke 10:19 and Mark 16:18 regarding poison. But there is a difference between poison getting into your body VS intentionally putting poison into your body (NOTE: I'm not saying that the vaccination contains poison, but using the principle as an illustration).

I was supernaturally healed from an autoimmune blood disease by God, so I wouldn't want to put something foreign back into my blood again.

I do not know what kind of fluid is entering into my blood if I take the vaccination. So it requires more faith for me to crush what is inside (the blood) than what is outside (viruses around me).

Greater is He that is in me that he that is in the world. - 1 John 4:4

I have more confidence to let the law of the Spirit of Life in me crush any virus that is on the outside. It has happened countless times and I personally believe it's the same for Covid-19 regardlessly.

God has created our mind and our body to be much more powerful than you think. But it requires resistance training, just like muscles. The more you do resistance training for your muscles, the bigger and stronger they become. As a result, you can lift heavier weights.

Similarly, the more we do resistance training with our mind and our body to fight viruses, the stronger our body becomes. If you have not realised, those who keep taking medicine for immediate remedy end up falling sick the most frequently, because the body realises that it doesn't have to do any resistance training ----- thus, it starts to rely on medication to help fight any virus, instead of producing strong cells to kill the viruses automatically.

Ever since I stopped taking medication many years ago, my body has developed robust immune system that has prevented any sickness/disease.

The same is meant for anyone and everyone, because God created us in the same image.

Again, I'm not saying that everyone should skip vaccination. But do it according to your faith and good conscience.

Disclaimer: If they make it compulsory for all to take, I have no issue taking it. Just have to believe in God to crush any side effects that enter from the blood.

To Take Or Not To Take Vaccination Part 1

To Take Or Not To Take Vaccination Part 1

I have come across so many arguments in the Christian world about the Covid-19 vaccination. There are two schools of thought that tread on the extreme, putting guilt on either side.

One says that you must a scary cat without trust in Christ to take the vaccination. The other says that you are selfish and do not love your neighbours because you do not want to take it. Both are trying to bring guilt and condemnation.

What does the Bible say?

He who eats, eats to the Lord, for he gives God thanks; and he who does not eat, to the Lord he does not eat, and gives God thanks. - Rom 14:6

The principle does not just apply to meat, but also other areas including vaccination. In other words, it is based on conviction (aka conscience).

The only problem lies when one takes it with doubt in his heart. For without faith, it is sin.

But he who doubts is condemned if he eats, because he does not eat from faith; for whatever is not from faith is sin. - Rom 14:23

If you shipwreck your conscience, you shipwreck your faith.

...holding faith and a good conscience. By rejecting this, some have made shipwreck of their faith. - 1 Tim 1:19

Whether you take the vaccination or not, you must settle in your heart concerning your conviction and where your faith lies. And please, stop judging one another.

I have my own personal conviction and I will share more in the next post why I personally think it takes more faith for me to take the vaccination. With my personal past history with God, I choose not to take it because I have learnt a principle.

Empowerment Is By Doing

At a recent healing meeting, when we got everyone to lay hands on one another, a Singaporean guy with hearing loss due to past cancer treatment began hearing.

You shall know the truth, and the truth will set you free. (John 8:32)

Every believer can do the same thing. But how do you empower the believers if the preacher is the one ministering? That immediately disempowers the believers and cancels off everything he has just taught.

No. You empower the believers to do the works of God by getting them to do it.

Empowerment is not about talking and preaching. It's by doing.

And when He had called His twelve disciples to Him, He gave them power over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease. - Matthew 10:1

How To Get Someone Saved Wrongly Part 7

How To Get Someone Saved Wrongly Part 7

The Gospel that Jesus preached on earth is repentance unto the Kingdom of God. The Gospel that He commanded His disciples to preach includes that, as well as Redemption through His finished works.

In the last part, we saw that Peter preached the Gospel that consists of Repentance & Redemption. Let's look at what Paul preached.

Then Paul dwelt two whole years in his own rented house, and received all who came to him, preaching 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐝𝐨𝐦 𝐨𝐟 𝐆𝐨𝐝 and teaching 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐢𝐜𝐡 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐫𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐋𝐨𝐫𝐝 𝐉𝐞𝐬𝐮𝐬 𝐂𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐭 with all confidence, no one forbidding him. - Acts 28:30-31

Over here, we see the consistent message of the Gospel ----- Repentance (Kingdom of God) and Redemption (Jesus Christ).

Towards the end of Paul's ministry in Ephesus, he left his departing message:

How I kept back nothing that was helpful, but proclaimed it to you, and taught you publicly and from house to house, testifying to Jews, and also to Greeks, 𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐭𝐨𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐆𝐨𝐝 AND 𝐟𝐚𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐭𝐨𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐋𝐨𝐫𝐝 𝐉𝐞𝐬𝐮𝐬 𝐂𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐭. - Acts 20:20-21

We see the consistent theme in the Gospel: 𝐑𝐞𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 (unto the King & His Kingdom) and 𝐑𝐞𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 (because of Jesus Christ).

Paul added, "Therefore I testify to you this day that I am innocent of the blood of all men. For I have not shunned to declare to you 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐬𝐞𝐥 𝐨𝐟 𝐆𝐨𝐝." - Acts 20:26-27

Today, we go to the extreme when it comes to sharing the Gospel with the lost: either we swing to the conservative side and simply talk about Repentance, or we swing to the other end and simply talk about Redemption.

The Gospel of the Kingdom must include both Repentance (The King & His Kingdom) and Redemption (Jesus Christ & His finished works). Hence, we need to share this if we want to see genuine salvation with the accompanying obedience of water baptism and Holy Spirit baptism that lead to further advancement of His kingdom, instead of producing pew-warmers who might not be saved.

Discipleship & Evangelism

Evangelising and reaching the lost, whether individually or in masses is an easy job. It’s a hit-and-go. You don’t have to deal with their messes. It doesn’t take any enduring love to do the miraculous and get the lost saved. I’m guilty of enjoying that. There is no string attached on either party.

Discipleship, on the other hand, requires the enduring love of God. For God is long-suffering. Jesus Himself loved His disciples to the very end, even though He knew that one would betray Him; another would deny Him; and the rest (except John) would leave Him out of fear. In discipleship, there is commitment.

If we are only interested in the former and not the latter, the love of God in us is still incomplete. Since the Great Commission is about making disciples, then we have no excuse even if we simply say that we are called to be evangelists.

P.S: Discipleship is not preaching/teaching by the way. It’s living life together and dealing with the messes.

P.P.S: While the eyes of men are looking at evangelists preaching in big crusades/meetings, the eyes of God is looking at faithful and quiet ones discipling a few in small groups. Believers need to open their spiritual eyes and see deeper than the surface job.

Prophetic News

Hot from today’s news about traveling for tourism.

Looks like I’m now a certified prophet. 😂😂😂

Thus said the Lord, “I love you baby.”

Come, come... sow into my prophetic ministry so that your finances will keep growing 🤣🤣🤣

On serious note, dear ‘prophets’, please first study the Word before you predict dates, times and appointments loosely.

What Is Your Priority

What Is Your Priority

I’m preparing to equip and empower believers on lifestyle evangelism this week.

Guess what?

Suddenly, two separate tenancy issues popped up at work, requiring immediate attention.

Work schedule changed in the last minute, including one requirement test that was supposed to be next week is now changed to this Wed. This would allow me to have more income opportunity if I go for the test (and pass it).

I knew this is an old trick of the enemy to get my focus off evangelism. So I decided to drop the work requirement test (in other words, drop the opportunity to earn more income; there might not be similar opportunity in near future), so that I could focus on the Kingdom for this week.

Matt 6:33 is not on lips’ service. It is reflected in the choices you make. Your priority and your choice will reveal if Matt 6:33 is truly in your heart, regardless of what you say you believe.

I’m typing this as my car suddenly broke down 10 minutes ago and I’m waiting for vehicle assistance.

Fret not. The enemy has no new trick and we must keep advancing the Kingdom.

On side note, this is why I prefer lifestyle evangelism and spontaneous equipping/empowering, as compared to a planned event. If the enemy doesn’t know what you are up to in your schedule, he can’t plan any attack.

P.S: I’m going to crush the enemy even more passionately this week.

P.P.S: The M car assistance guy got healed after checking my car. You whack the enemy harder if he tries to be funny.

How To Get Someone Saved Wrongly Part 6

How To Get Someone Saved Wrongly Part 6

The Gospel that Jesus preached has repentance as the central message because He represented the King and His Kingdom.

However, no one had the power to obey and walk in His Kingdom.

This is why He had to be crucified, died, raised and ascended.

After Jesus rose from the dead, He told His disciples to preach 𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 (unto) 𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐬. Now the Gospel of the Kingdom must include both 𝐑𝐄𝐏𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐀𝐍𝐂𝐄 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐑𝐄𝐃𝐄𝐌𝐏𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍!

On the day of Pentecost, Peter preached the Gospel to the Jews. While the Greeks were also present (Acts 2:8-11), Peter was specifically addressing the Jews in his speech (Acts 2:22), because he thought that the Gospel was meant for the Jews. He had the Jews in mind when he preached from Acts 2:14-36.

When the Jews heard Peter preach, they were cut to the heart and decided to respond to the Gospel.

Peter said, "𝐑𝐞𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐭 and 𝐛𝐞 𝐛𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐳𝐞𝐝 every one of you 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐧𝐚𝐦𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐉𝐞𝐬𝐮𝐬 𝐂𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐭 for the 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐬, and you will 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐠𝐢𝐟𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐇𝐨𝐥𝐲 𝐒𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐭." - Acts 2:38

The Jews already heard Jesus preaching the Kingdom earlier. Remember, the Bible is ONE CONNECTED STORY. You must not separate them. The Jews understood what repentance meant when Peter said it. It's 𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐭𝐨𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐊𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐇𝐢𝐬 𝐊𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐝𝐨𝐦.

Over here, we see both 𝐑𝐄𝐏𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐀𝐍𝐂𝐄 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐑𝐄𝐃𝐄𝐌𝐏𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 (forgiveness of sins) preached by Peter. That's the Gospel of the Kingdom after the resurrection of Christ!

On side note, TRUE BELIEVING in the Gospel must lead to baptism and receiving of the Holy Spirit. Those are faith put into action. It proves salvation.

In the next part, we will look at Paul preaching the Gospel of the Kingdom. It is consistent!

The Reference Point Of Faith

The Reference Point Of Faith

Everyone has a reference point where they put their faith in. Yes, Christ is the only One whom we put our faith in. But there is a reference point of faith that helps an individual to put their faith in Christ.

For example, the woman with the issue of blood had a reference point of faith ------ the hem of the garment of Jesus. She had faith that when she touched it, she would be made whole. And she did.

In Acts 5, Peter's shadow became the people's reference point of faith. They knew that when they got into Peter's shadow, they would be healed. And they did.

The reference point of faith is different for different individuals. There is no right or wrong. For some, humans such as pulpit ministers/evangelists are their reference point of faith. For some, Holy Communion is their reference point of faith. For some, prayer and fasting is their reference point of faith. For some, potato chips are their reference point of faith (ahem 😁).

If we don't understand this, many healing ministers will take credit (even though they share the testimonies as if they are giving glory to God, but actually giving glory to themselves quietly; for it's easily discerned in the Spirit) when they ministered to the sick and the latter got healed. Because the ministers (human tool) could simply be the sick's reference point of faith.

Note: Even the ministers have a reference point of faith by the words they use or the approach they use to minister to the sick. Smith Wigglesworth's reference point of faith is by punching people.

Whatever reference point of faith you have, don't make it into a method. Don't make it into teaching. Don't lay the conviction on others. Let individuals have that freedom to explore and grow.

P.S: When you find your own reference point of faith, keep exploring new ones, so that you are not limited especially in a situation when you cannot use that reference point.

How To Get Someone Saved Wrongly Part 5

How To Get Someone Saved Wrongly Part 5

The Gospel that Jesus preached has repentance as the central message because He represented the King and His Kingdom.

However, no one had the power to obey and walk in His Kingdom. This is why He had to be crucified, died, resurrected and ascended.

After He was resurrected, He gave the command to His disciples to preach the Gospel.

...and thus 𝐢𝐭 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐚𝐫𝐲 for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day, and that 𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐬 should be preached in His name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. - Luke 24:46-47

It was necessary for Jesus to go through every event: from crucifixion to ascension, because it did something for us, without which, we would not be able to obey the Gospel of the Kingdom (2 Thes 1:8; Heb 5:9)

Note: In the NT epistles, believing and obeying are two sides of the same coin. It is impossible to believe and not obey. This is why they often use the term "obeying the truth" and "obey the Gospel". In other ways, true salvation is about believing which results in obeying. Yes, it's by grace through faith, and not by works. His grace empowers us to believe, and if we believe, we will obey.

𝐂𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐱𝐢𝐨𝐧: Jesus had to be crucified in order to redeem us from the curse of the Law (Gal 3:13; Deut 21:23). There is no other way.

𝐃𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐡: Jesus had to die for the remission of our sins (Heb 9:22; Rom 4:25). Without the shedding of blood, there cannot be forgiveness.

𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: Jesus had to be raised for our justification and the gift of righteousness (Rom 4:25; Rom 5:17). Otherwise, we would still be living in sin, despite having forgiveness.

𝐀𝐬𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧: Jesus had to be ascended in order for the Father to send the Holy Spirit ------ the power to obey the Gospel of the Kingdom (Luke 24:49; Acts 1:8).

After Jesus rose from the dead, He told His disciples to preach 𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 (unto) 𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐬. Now the Gospel of the Kingdom must include both 𝐑𝐄𝐏𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐀𝐍𝐂𝐄 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐑𝐄𝐃𝐄𝐌𝐏𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍!

What kind of Gospel do we share with others?

In the next part, we will look at how apostles Peter and Paul preached the Gospel.
