What Happens To You Does Not Change The Word

What Happens To You Does Not Change The Word

"So and so prayed for me, but nothing changes."

"So and so are full of faith, yet they still experienced this."

"So and so tithed faithfully and they encountered God's blessings."

More often than not, we tend to look at what others are going through to determine what God could be like. Nothing is further from the truth.

The Psalmist said, "Lord God of Israel, don’t let what happens to me be the source of confusion to those who are passionate for you." - Ps 69:6 (TPT)

What happens to you and others does not change who God is. It does not interpret God's nature. It does not represent the Truth. It does not reveal what the Word says and what the Word means.

Experiences cannot alter the Word. Only the Word can alter experiences. And if our experiences do not line up with the Word, we need to get into the Word so deeply that the Word becomes our experiences.

God is not what you say He is. God is not what happens to you or others. God is not what your experiences say. God is what the Word says. He changes not. He is the same forever. He is more predictable than you think He is, because He keeps His Word and is always faithful to His Word.

There is a reason why the Bible tells us to 'Fix our eyes on Jesus'. Jesus is the Word made flesh. We fix our eyes on the Word. It doesn't matter what others are going through. It doesn't matter what you are going through. What matters is what Christ has gone through.

Only what He went through should define our experiences. Only the Word should define our experiences.
