Deliverance Part 3

Deliverance Part 3

Do you know that knowing you have been delivered is actually the deliverance that you need in your life?

He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son... - Col 1:13

Many believers are still waiting for another deliverance session to get free. You are not trying to get free. You are already free if you realise who you are in Christ and what He has done for you.

There are ministries that try to bring you back to your past memories and ask you to 'see' Jesus in that memory so that you can be free from that trauma/incident/hurt. This is taken from the counseling approach, which is called repressed memory therapy.

This is a psychological way of dealing with unexplained symptoms/emotions. It can find temporarily relief, but it does not help you stay free. Because the enemy will find opportune time to bring back the past memories. You will end up needing another ministering session.

Nowhere in the Bible, in the New Covenant, teaches on this. The Word says that you have been crucified (Gal 2:20); you have died with Christ (Rom 6:8); your old self with those memories are done way with (Rom 6:6); you are to forget the past (Phil 3:13); you are a new creation (2 Cor 5:17), etc.

The flashback and the past memories can come back to haunt you, because the enemy won't let go of you. You need to know that they no longer define you; they no longer have any power or influence over you. They are no longer who you are in Christ.

He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, 𝐢𝐧 𝐰𝐡𝐨𝐦 𝐰𝐞 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧... - Col 1:13-14

The word 'redemption' in the Greek is 'release effected by payment of ransom.' It emphasizes the distance that results between the rescued person, and what previously enslaved them.

Because of what Christ did on the Cross, you have been released from the past. You have been released from the trauma and the bad memories.

When you are redeemed from something, you are released into a new status. What you are redeemed from no longer has any hold on you. But in order for you to experience that freedom, you have to intentionally walk out your new status ----- the New Man, created and renewed in the image of Christ (Col 3:10; Eph 4:24).

Many cases of inner healing/deliverance are a result of the person trying to resurrect the old self when it has already been crucified with Christ.

The next time when the enemy tries to bring back the hurt, emotions and pain, tell him, "You've got the wrong person. I'm a new Man in Christ."
