Interchangeable: Sin & Sickness

Interchangeable: Sin & Sickness

Because of sin, death came into this world. This includes every form of death, both physical and spiritual. Physical death encompasses sicknesses and diseases.

Romans 5:12 - Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men...

But when Christ died for us, He dealt with sin so that death no longer reigns in this life (Rom 5:17; 5:10). Read also Romans 6 and Romans 8.

Sin and sickness are technically interchangeable in the Word, because sickness came as a result of sin. If sin is dealt with, then sickness is dealt with. Check out the verses below.

Psalm 103:3 - Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases...

Isaiah 53:4, 12 - Surely He has borne ('nasa' in Hebrew) our griefs...; And He bore ('nasa' in Hebrew) the sin of many...

Matthew 8:17 - ...that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah... "He Himself took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses."

1 Peter 2:24 - Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed.

Mark 2:9-11 - Which is easier, to say to the paralytic, ‘Your sins are forgiven you,’ or to say, ‘Arise, take up your bed and walk’? But that you may know that the Son of Man has power on earth to forgive sins”—He said to the paralytic, “I say to you, arise, take up your bed, and go to your house.”

When our eyes are open to see that sin and sickness are interchangeable in the Word, we begin to realise that whatever that deals with sin also deals with sickness.

If God forgave your sin, He also healed you. It's a package. But many churches like to separate them, because their idea of salvation is only spiritual. But God's idea of salvation is holistic as it includes wholeness and total well-being, whether spiritually, emotionally, mentally or physically.

One of the most powerful verses lies in Romans 6.

Romans 6:7 - For he who has died 𝐡𝐚𝐬 𝐛𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐟𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐝 from sin.

You can also read it this way... 'For he who has died has been freed 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐬𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬.'

Just as a dead person cannot have sin or live in sin, a dead person cannot have sickness or live in sickness. A dead person simply cannot respond to sin and sickness.

The problem lies with us still focusing on sin and sickness. We are not dead enough. We are resurrecting our old man which was already crucified with Christ on the Cross.

Romans 6:11 - Reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin...

In other words, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to 𝐬𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬. The more we reckon ourselves DEAD to sin and sickness, the more we are FREE from sin and sickness.

Living 𝐃𝐄𝐀𝐃 𝐢𝐧 𝐂𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐎𝐍𝐋𝐘 𝐒𝐎𝐋𝐔𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 for sin and sickness.

What is the practical approach to sickness?

If you are experiencing any symptoms in the physical body, you say, "I am not sick. I am dead to sickness. I live in Him. His life lives in me. I am the HEALED opposing every symptom."

If you are walking in health, you say, "I am dead to sickness. No sickness can be in me. No sickness nor symptom can attach itself to me. Because I am dead to it. I am alive in Christ. His resurrection power and life is in me. His light is in me. This destroys whatever darkness that tries to come near me."

Resisting The Enemy

Resisting The Enemy

Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. - James 4:7

In the Old Covenant, the Lord will cause the enemy to flee (Deut 28:7). In the New, the Lord has put in us the power to do so.

The word 'resist' is not a weak English word that means 'refrain' or 'to keep something at bay'.

In the Greek, it actually means 'to take a complete stand against, i.e. a 180 degree, contrary position.'

It means 'to establish one's position publicly by conspicuously holding one's ground.'

It means 'to forcefully declare one's personal conviction (on Christ's possession)'.

In a nutshell, to resist is to oppose fully. It requires us to take offense at the enemy.

Behold, I have given you the authority to trample upon serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you. - Luke 10:19

Resisting the enemy is NOT about letting him attack you, and you refraining (blocking) the attack. It's about you OPPOSING him fully and forcefully, and declaring who you are and what you have in Christ.

You are driving him in the opposite direction, so that he flees. He's prowling around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. If we don't drive him and oppose him, he will devour us.

Saturday 11 November

Saturday 11 November

I woke up in the morning with sudden, intense pain on one side of the stomach. Inexplicable pain. I curled into a ball on the bed. Broke out in cold sweat, feeling nausea, headache, etc.

I didn't share anything with my wife. But she knew that I was fighting the fight of faith. She knew that I would prefer to war through it without sharing any details.

She told me, "I will send J for his karate class today. You just rest at home."

For about 7 hours, the pain was constant. I had no appetite as I felt like vomiting. I was still curled into a ball. I commanded it to go, but eventually lost the energy to command further. After I had done all, my job was to stand. So I stood on the Word.

When she came back with J and saw me in pain and curled up, she couldn't resist anymore. She asked, "Where is the pain? What kind of pain are you experiencing? Did you eat anything? Please tell me everything."

After sharing the pain symptoms, she said, "I don't care. I'm going to feed you with a piece of plain bread and I'm going to have you take the painkillers."

She fed me with the bread and brought two panadol pills to the front of my mouth. She said, "Please take it. So that I can rule out that it's not appendicitis. If the pain doesn't go off, you need to do something."

I kept in silent but refused to open my mouth. She said, "I know you won't go to the doctor. But please, at least take the painkillers so that we can narrow down the possibility. You are in such pain and you are still so stubborn."

My son came beside me and said, "Papa, please take it for my sake. Please, Papa."

The fight is real because every ounce of your mind will tell you to go for the easy way out; take the pills and deal with the pain quickly. Afterall, I have withstood for 7 hours.

My wife decided to leave the pills on the table and allowed me to make my own decision. Both my son and her proceeded to command the pain to leave.

My son kept pestering me to take, but I kept delaying by saying, "Later."

All of the sudden, the pain just disappeared miraculously. Not even an ounce of pain was left. It disappeared suddenly. While I expected this to happen, it was still unexpected, if you know what I meant.

Both of them burst in praises to God. So did I. What I have shown my son and wife over and over again is the fight of faith, in depending on Jehovah Rapha.

Disclaimer: I have nothing against medication. But I preach healing and I minister healing, so I have to walk things out so that my message carries truth as well as strong conviction.

The fight of faith is not always instantaneous. Because the fight of faith is simply to stand on the Word. After you have done all, will you be moved or stay grounded?

What Is Your Way Of Life?

Social media is not the way of life. We don't see the authenticity of life through the lens of social media.

Social media is meant to show off what is good and cover up what is bad.

It works extremely well because many people believe it. This is why digital marketing works.

Never compare yourself to a social media personality. You and I have an individual, unique life assignment designed by God where only you and I can walk it out.

Stop thinking that others are prettier because their photos are probably photoshopped. Even the face can be photoshopped. It's called cosmetic surgery which is way more common than you think.

Stop thinking that others are richer because they might be in debts, and/or living an unhappy, unfulfilled life.

Stop thinking that others are achieving alot in their lives, because their marriage is perhaps, breaking up; their kids are rebellious, etc.

Stop thinking that others are more spiritual, because they probably are infants in other areas of their lives. Look at how some use the public toilets and you will know that they are not that spiritual.

Stop thinking that others are owning lots of material stuff and traveling all over the world, because they might be running a rat race and selling their souls to money.

When we turn our thoughts away from social media influence and towards Him who loves us, we live in gratitude and contentment.

Social media never teaches you to grow in contentment. It never did and will never do so. Because it is not the way of life.

Pursue Christ, for He is Life and true Contentment.
