This Generation

When you minister with the cards facing downwards, you can give an Answer to those who ask, "Are these tarot cards?"

Tarot cards require you to flip them open, because they read from the cards.

We don't. We read it supernaturally by the power of Jesus.

Waited more than half an hour for the first person to come. But once it started, the people kept coming.

Closed the 'shop' at 10pm, but the queue was so long that we couldn't stop until 11.30pm.

Majority of them were local youths/young adults. This signifies that the youths of today are continually looking for some spiritual experiences. They are looking for hope and answers to what they are struggling with on the inside.

Life in Singapore is no longer as simple and easy as in the past. The tremendous pressure and stress from every side of the family, the culture and society in Singapore are extremely unhealthy.

Academic performance, work performance, cost of living, etc. are probably at the toughest level for this generation. Fresh grads are unable to secure a job despite hundreds of applications sent.

Truth be told, it's not going to get any better. Giving you carrots here and there as an act of help might show the world how good the system is. But one who has simple discernment can see deeper than the surface. The root issue is not meant to be dealt with. It's more often than not, planned by the system.

Instead of complaining about the system, which won't result in any change, we need to take deliberate actions if we do not want to be conformed to the system that is meant to keep you captive.

Declining morality is simply the manifestation of a problematic system built by ungodly people. God foresaw it, warned and prepared us.

While Jesus is always the Answer, there is no simple solution to this. You can lead someone to Christ, but if he goes to an institution that follows the system of this world, he can be in Christ but still be of the system where he is held captive.

For us who are awakened, we can do our part to minister faith, hope and love to this young generation who are seeking for an answer.

The Light of Your Eyes

The Light of Your Eyes

The light of the eyes rejoices the heart, and a good report makes the bones healthy. - Prov 15:30

What we see determines what we bring to our heart. This proverbs can be corresponded with Christ's teaching in Matthew.

“The eye is the lamp of the body; so then, ๐ข๐Ÿ ๐ฒ๐จ๐ฎ๐ซ ๐ž๐ฒ๐ž ๐ข๐ฌ ๐œ๐ฅ๐ž๐š๐ซ, your whole body will be full of light." - Matt 6:22 NASB

The NASB is a great representation of the Greek language in this verse. The word 'clear' in Greek is literally 'single'. It means 'without folds, referring to a single, undivided focus.'

๐„๐ฏ๐ž๐ซ๐ฒ๐ญ๐ก๐ข๐ง๐  ๐ฐ๐ž ๐ฌ๐ž๐ž ๐ฐ๐ข๐ญ๐ก ๐š ๐ฌ๐ข๐ง๐ ๐ฅ๐ž, ๐ฎ๐ง๐๐ข๐ฏ๐ข๐๐ž๐ ๐Ÿ๐จ๐œ๐ฎ๐ฌ has an effect on our heart. What you focus on, your heart receives its effect. If you focus on what is good and beautiful, your heart receives joy for what is good and beautiful. If you focus on what is bad, your heart receives sorrow for what is evil and bad.

Proverbs 15:30 continues with 'and a good report makes the bones healthy.'

Isaiah 53:1 says, "๐–๐ก๐จ ๐ก๐š๐ฌ ๐›๐ž๐ฅ๐ข๐ž๐ฏ๐ž๐ ๐จ๐ฎ๐ซ ๐ซ๐ž๐ฉ๐จ๐ซ๐ญ?" Isaiah was referring to Christ. He continued in verse 4-5.

However, ๐ข๐ญ ๐ฐ๐š๐ฌ ๐จ๐ฎ๐ซ ๐ฌ๐ข๐œ๐ค๐ง๐ž๐ฌ๐ฌ๐ž๐ฌ ๐ญ๐ก๐š๐ญ ๐‡๐ž ๐‡๐ข๐ฆ๐ฌ๐ž๐ฅ๐Ÿ ๐›๐จ๐ซ๐ž, ๐š๐ง๐ ๐จ๐ฎ๐ซ ๐ฉ๐š๐ข๐ง๐ฌ ๐ญ๐ก๐š๐ญ ๐‡๐ž ๐œ๐š๐ซ๐ซ๐ข๐ž๐; yet we ourselves assumed that He had been afflicted, struck down by God, and humiliated. ๐๐”๐“ He was pierced for our offenses, He was crushed for our wrongdoings; the punishment for our well-being was laid upon Him, and by His wounds we are healed. - Isa 53:4-5 NASB (emphasis added)

In order for our body to be FULL of light (Matt 6:22), we need to see with clarity; single and undivided focus. The only good report we focus on should be Isaiah's report on Christ.

Put away the doctor's report.
Put away your loved ones' report.
Put away others' report.

We have assumed that Jesus was afflicted, struck down by God and afflicted. That is simply untrue. God did not strike His Son (God), though we interpreted it that way. This is why Isaiah said that "we ourselves assumed... ๐๐”๐“ He was pierced for our offenses..." The reason for 'BUT' is that the truth is different from what we assumed.

The Gospel is not about a holy God releasing His wrath upon humanity on His own Son. On the contrary, it is about God crushing sin and its effect through His Son.

Let our eyes be singled on Isaiah's report --- ๐›๐ฒ ๐‡๐ข๐ฌ ๐ฐ๐จ๐ฎ๐ง๐๐ฌ ๐ฐ๐ž ๐š๐ซ๐ž ๐ก๐ž๐š๐ฅ๐ž๐. This report penetrates into your inner being (bones), affecting the whole body.

You Are Not Of The World

You Are Not Of The World

Sanctify them in the truth; Your word is truth. As you sent Me into the world, so I have sent them into the world. And for their sake I consecrate Myself, that they also may be sanctified in truth. - John 17:17-19

The word for 'consecrate' and 'sanctified' is simply to 'set apart'.

Jesus said that we are in the world, but NOT of the world. He prayed to the Father to set His disciples apart in the Word. This also applies to us as it is a timeless truth.

In other words, the more we are IN the Word (truth), the more we are set apart from the world.

Jesus set Himself apart, that the disciples might be set apart in the Word, which is Him. The disciples did not have the New Testament when they were with Jesus. But they had the Word, because Jesus is the Word made flesh.

The disciples caught how the Word set Himself apart from the world. Therefore, they could set themselves apart in Him.

If people see us (believers) the same as the world, it proves that we are not in the Word. There is no difference. There is no separation aka consecration.

You and I are not different just to be different. We are set apart when we get into the Word and let the Word get into us. It becomes a natural thing that people see us and realise that we are not of the world.

Reflection: Do people see us the same as the world? If they do, it's time to question what we have truly believed in.

Authority for Eternal Life

John 17:2-3 - Jesus had authority to give eternal life.
- Eternal life is that they know the only true God and Jesus Christ.
- Jesus' authority over all flesh was meant to reveal who God is.
- Luke 10:19. We have been given authority over all devils. This authority is meant to reveal who God is (Matt 28:18-20) so that people can know Him (eternal life).

Faith That Endures

Faith That Endures

"For truly, I say to you, if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you.” - Matt 17:20

The mustard seed is so tiny, yet Jesus illustrated faith with it. This means that faith has nothing to do with quantity. Faith has to do with standing firm and endurance.

With a mustard seed of faith, Jesus said that we will say to the mountain, 'Move from here to there' and it will move, AND nothing will be impossible for us.

There seems to be a progression. The mountain moves; AND nothing will be impossible for us. For us to see the impossible done, we must first see what seems to be impossible done. If we can see the mountain moved, our faith has grown to see the impossible.

Every miracle you see empowers you to overcome a bigger problem. I used to be a body builder many years ago. When I overcame 60 kg of bench press (my weight was 50-ish), I could take on 70kg, then 80kg and so on.

Jesus said that you will say to the mountain and it will move. But He didn't say WHEN it will move. How fast we expect it to move depends on the mustard seed of faith that we have sown in.

Jesus said that the Kingdom of God is like a mustard seed. When it is sown, it will grow to become like a tree (Luke 13:19). He illustrated this by cursing the fig tree before teaching the faith principle (Mark 11:22-23).

Once you have sown the mustard seed of faith, it will GROW and it will WORK, whether instantly or progressively. How fast you want it to work depends on whether your seed has become a tree.

Once you have sown the seed, you endure/persevere to the end. This is the only way for it to grow and work.

But the one who endures to the end will be saved (sozo-ed). - Matt 24:13 (emphasis added)

...knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. And let endurance have its perfect result... - James 1:3-4

The word 'endurance' in James 1:3 and 'endures' in Matt 24:13 come from the same root word 'hupomenรณ', which means to abide and remain steadfast.

It is similiar to Ephesians 6:13 when you have done all, 'to stand'. In the Greek, it means 'one who does not hesitate, does not waver; of one who vanquishes his adversaries and holds the ground.'

You are not enduring because God is testing you. You are enduring because the enemy is the one attacking you. Each time when you let faith endure, you defeat the enemy.

For you to see the result of faith, you sow the mustard seed and endure/persevere it to the end. By remaining steadfast, you are letting the seed GROW into the tree. 'Nothing will be impossible for you' becomes your reality.

The problem comes when you doubt (aka double-minded). You cannot mix faith with unbelief. It is like sowing the seed and digging it up from the ground again. In this case, it will NEVER grow. It will NEVER produce result.

Alot of believers know how to sow the mustard seed of faith. But it is enduring to the end that they can't. You will have to align your words, your thoughts and your actions to who and what Christ is, regardless of your situation. This is where you become perfect (mature) and complete, lacking nothing (James 1:4).

The faith that endures to the end is the mustard seed that grows to become a tree. The faith that endures to the end is the one that gets sozo-ed (saved, healed, delivered, protected, preserved, made whole, kept safe and sound).

The Mustard Seed of Faith

People's unbelief cannot stop my believing.
But my own unbelief can stop my believing.

Little faith = unbelief = double-minded
- It means that I mix believing with unbelief.
- I believe, but it doesn't endure; I have doubt again.
- Believing + doubting doesn't work.
- It's like sowing the mustard seed of faith and then digging it up again

By His Stripes, The Work of God

By His Stripes, The Work of God

By His stripes, you were healed. (1 Peter 2:24)

If it is BY His stripes, it has to do with the work of God. It has to do with what He had done. This means that it has NOTHING to do with what we have done or will ever do.

If you think that you can do anything to get healed OR miss your healing, you have focused on the wrong thing.

The work of God has nothing to do with your behaviour, your lifestyle, your actions, etc. To think that there is something you must have done wrong when you didn't get your healing is to think that healing depends on your works.

It is His stripes that got you healed. Focus on His stripes. Focus on that. Focus on the free gift. Focus on His work.

Jesus answered and said to them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He sent.” - John 6:29

This is the simplest but hardest truth. Only believe. Believe in Him. Believe in His stripes. Believe that He took them for you. This is the only work you 'do'.

Strive to enter that rest (Heb 4:11). That rest in context is about believing (Heb 4:2).

When you strive to enter the rest of faith, you cease striving in every other area. You cease from ALL your works (Heb 4:10).

Only when you stop believing in any of your own work will you start believing that it is ALL about His work.

If egg yolk is the position of believing, you need to get rid of the shell and egg white that are hindering you from believing.

Those are unbelief. It is unbelief (Matt 17:20) that prevented the disciples from seeing the demon cast out from the boy.

When we mix believing with unbelief, it hinders the work of God.

Unbelief has to do with anything about you.
Believing has to do with everything about God.

The day you stop trusting in yourself and your works is the day you start trusting in Him and His work.

It is BY HIS STRIPES that you were healed.

The Conviction of The Holy Spirit

The Conviction of The Holy Spirit

And when He comes, He will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment: ๐œ๐จ๐ง๐œ๐ž๐ซ๐ง๐ข๐ง๐  ๐ฌ๐ข๐ง, because ๐ญ๐ก๐ž๐ฒ do not believe in Me; ๐œ๐จ๐ง๐œ๐ž๐ซ๐ง๐ข๐ง๐  ๐ซ๐ข๐ ๐ก๐ญ๐ž๐จ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ง๐ž๐ฌ๐ฌ, because I go to the Father, and ๐ฒ๐จ๐ฎ will see Me no longer; ๐œ๐จ๐ง๐œ๐ž๐ซ๐ง๐ข๐ง๐  ๐ฃ๐ฎ๐๐ ๐ฆ๐ž๐ง๐ญ, because ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐ซ๐ฎ๐ฅ๐ž๐ซ ๐จ๐Ÿ ๐ญ๐ก๐ข๐ฌ ๐ฐ๐จ๐ซ๐ฅ๐ is judged. - Jn 16:8-11

The Holy Spirit convicts the world of three things:
1) Sin
2) Righteousness
3) Judgment

But the target audience for each category differs. There are three target audience who are in the world:
1) Unbelievers
2) Believers
3) The enemy

๐Ÿ) ๐”๐ง๐›๐ž๐ฅ๐ข๐ž๐ฏ๐ž๐ซ๐ฌ
The Holy Spirit convicts them of sin. This is not the sin of doing what is wrong. If it is, it will be plural. Since the context is about believing, it has to be the ๐ฌ๐ข๐ง ๐จ๐Ÿ ๐ฎ๐ง๐›๐ž๐ฅ๐ข๐ž๐Ÿ (because they do not believe in Me).

๐Ÿ) ๐๐ž๐ฅ๐ข๐ž๐ฏ๐ž๐ซ๐ฌ
The Holy Spirit convicts the believers of righteousness. This is because Jesus has returned to the Father and thus, we no longer have a perfect Example to watch and follow. Now that the Spirit of the perfect Example lives in us, He convicts us of righteousness ----- ๐ซ๐ข๐ ๐ก๐ญ ๐ฌ๐ญ๐š๐ง๐๐ข๐ง๐ , ๐ซ๐ข๐ ๐ก๐ญ ๐›๐ž๐ฅ๐ข๐ž๐ฏ๐ข๐ง๐  ๐š๐ง๐ ๐ซ๐ข๐ ๐ก๐ญ ๐ฅ๐ข๐ฏ๐ข๐ง๐ . This empowers us to have a god-conscience that is above the world's good conscience.

๐Ÿ‘) ๐“๐ก๐ž ๐ž๐ง๐ž๐ฆ๐ฒ
The Holy Spirit reminds the enemy that he is The enemy's head was bruised by Christ (Gen 3:15); the enemy was disarmed and put to shame (Col 2:15); the power of death was destroyed (Heb 2:14).

As believers, we continue to enforce that judgment through the works of the Spirit (Luke 10:18-19; Mark 16:15-18). Each time when we heal the sick and deliver the oppressed, the enemy gets a reminder that he is judged.

Your Thinking Releases His Power

Your Thinking Releases His Power

Recently, I have been having vision (day) and dream (night) on 'thinking'. If young men see visions and old men dream dreams, I must be somewhere in between. Lol.

I felt the Spirit speaking to me, "While the power of God is in your heart (Jn 7:38), it is in your thinking that opens or restricts the flow."

In the dream, I had series of events. Wherever I went, I could simply use my thinking to literally move things around. I think sci-fi movies copied Christianity. We had to be the originators.

Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us. - Eph 3:20

This passage, when read in English, does not do justice to the Scripture. It has diluted the meaning, the richness and the power of this passage.

While God is able (root word of dunamis) to do over and beyond all that we 'ask' or 'think', He can't do it without our cooperation. It is according to the dunamis through the Holy Spirit that 'works' in us (Acts 1:8).

The word 'works' in Greek means 'to be operative or put forth power so that it is effectual'. In this context, it speaks of 'the dative of person in whose mind a thing shows itself active.'

Note 1: This power brings about the result that we want to see, in any circumstance. If it is not operative, it is present but it is not effectual.

Note 2: In this context, the mind of the person is involved. One might think that it's simply about seeing with the mind's eyes (a thing shows itself active). But I like to suggest that it is more than that. Because the principle of seeing does not work for me.

Since Eph 3:20 involves our cooperation, we observe two things. 'Ask' or 'Think'.

The word 'ask' in Greek is 'aiteo' which consists of 'ask, request, demand'. It is best represented by this passage in 1 John.

And this is the confidence that we have toward Him, that if we ask anything according to His will He hears us. And if we know that He hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of Him. - 1 Jn 5:14-15

This has to be the confidence of declaring and speaking His will. And it is simple.

The word 'think' in Greek has to do with 'considering' and 'perceiving'. It is not just an English word, which only means what you think.

The word 'noiรฉล', where 'think' is from, is about what you consider ----- 'to apply mental effort needed to reach "bottom-line" conclusions'.

In other words, you consider with conclusion. Your consideration has conclusion. You are thinking with value-judgment. This is like God because we are created in His image. God never thinks without conclusion because His thoughts create something out of nothing without shrinking back.

Each time we think with conclusion/judgment according to His will, the power of the Spirit is made operative and effectual and it brings about the result that we want to see, where it lines up with His Word.

Summary of the Story of God and Man

 Before Creation:

- God holds the ultimate Dominion as He sits on the Throne (Dan 4:34)

- God created everything that is good (Gen 1:31; 1 Tim 4:4) including Lucifier (Col 1:16-17). Lucifier was blameless when he was created and he was already in Eden, the garden of God (Eze 28:12-15)

- Lucifer, the anointed guardian cherub wanted God's Dominion and Throne (Isa 14:13-15). He had the free will to turn against God (Rev 12:7-10; Isaiah 14:12; Jude 6)

At Creation:

- God is so full of love and glory that He created the earth, Adam & Eve in His image (Gen 1:26; Isa 43:7)
- God handed His dominion on earth (not heaven) fully to Man. Man could thus make any decision on earth with God-given dominion. The earth was now under Man (Gen 1:26; Ps 115:16; Gen 2:19-20)
- Lucifer knew that God loves Man deeply and if he could cause Man to fall short of the glory of God (Rom 3:23), he could:
    a) Usurp Man's dominion on earth and take over the earth (Luke 4:6; 1 Jn 5:19)
    b) Usurp God's dominion in heaven IF God were to save His beloved Man by any means from heaven (Isa 14:14)
- God cannot go against the integrity of His Word (Ps 138:2; Isa 55:11; Heb 6:18) or two things would happen:
    a) The Universe will break apart (Heb 1:3)
    b) The foundation of His Throne will break apart (Ps 89:14)
- This is the reason that God had to send Jesus on earth, in order not to break His Word, because the dominion on earth had been entrusted to Man. Therefore, God had to use Man to abide by the Word He had spoken. God had to use Man to take dominion on earth. Jesus, while fully God, is also fully Man on earth (Phil 2:6-8). He is the Son of Man.

At Redemption:
- Jesus showed us God's dominion on earth throughout the Gospel (Matt 4:34; 12:28). He demonstrated dominion over sickness, demons, finances, storm & waves, lack of food, death, etc. He showed us what dominion looks like if it were not usurped. He showed us the original intention & purpose of God (Gen 1:26)
- As the Last Adam, Jesus came to fulfill what the First Adam failed (Matt 5:17). He had to walk in perfection to redeem the imperfection of Man (Rom 5:15-19). He became sin on the Cross so that He could restore Righteousness and the image of God in us (2 Cor 5:17; 2 Cor 5:21; 1 Cor 1:30-31)
- The Last Adam redeemed the First Adam and restored God's dominion to Man on earth (Matt 28:18-20)
- God, in His manifold wisdom, saved Man (First Adam) through Man (Last Adam) (Eph 3:8-12) while keeping His Word (at Creation). For God changes not.

For believers:
- We are to continue to exercise and enforce God's dominion on earth until Christ returns (Matt 10:8; Matt 28:19-20; Mark 16:15-18; Luke 10:18-19; 1 Cor 15:24-28; Daniel 7:13-14)
- This is the reason for the Lord's Prayer: "Your Kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven." (Matt 6:10)
- The earth is to look like heaven in every aspect. If it isn't, we keep taking dominion in every area. The responsibility lies with Man, not God. For earth has been entrusted to us (Ps 115:16) and dominion has been restored to us.

God has the power to easily destroy the earth and restart everything. But He didn't and couldn't, because He promised not to do it (Gen 8:21) and He must keep His Word to let Man handle the earth. Christ hasn't returned because of God's mercy to Man (2 Peter 3:9). But once Man has taken dominion through Christ (Col 1:27) on earth with the Gospel of the Kingdom (Rom 14:17; 1 Cor 4:20), the end will come (Matt 24:14; 1 Cor 15:24).

For non-believers:
- From history till now, Man continues to yearn for dominion (it is an inborn desire) all over the world. But without Christ, it is a demonic and twisted dominion, which is rooted from Satan (Lucifier). You see it everywhere ----- wars, pandemic, big pharmas, slaveries, etc. To drive it nearer to home... your boss, your business partners, your colleagues, etc. It's everywhere because people are walking in twisted dominion (which is Satan's idea).

- Everything we see on earth right now is a war between two kingdoms: God's Kingdom and the kingdom of darkness. The fight is not flesh and blood (Eph 6:12). There are only two parties: People walking in God's dominion and people walking in twisted satanic dominion.

Only born-again believers can walk in God-given dominion and establish His Kingdom and Righteousness on earth (Matt 6:33; Rom 14:17). And this is the privilege and responsibility we have ---- to be enlisted by the Lord of hosts to be His armies.

How Do You Hear The Voice of God?

How Do You Hear The Voice of God?

The voice of God sounds the same as your own voice.
The voice of the devil sounds the same as your own voice.
The voice of your mind sounds the same as your own voice.

What is that so?

Because these voices come from within you. If it comes from outside in, it will be easy to differentiate. But it comes from inside out, so the sound will always be the same.

Therefore, you don't differentiate the voice of God by HOW it sounds. You differentiate by the Word of God and the Will of God.

If you want to know the will of God, read the Word.
If you want to do the will of God, do the Word. - Lester Sumrall

If anyone wills to do His will, he shall know concerning the doctrine, whether it is from God... - John 7:17

The more you do the Word, which is His will, the more you know Truth (interpretation).

This is the key to hear the voice of God. You can't grow in hearing His voice by simply spending alot of time in prayer. Because if you do not read His Word and do His Word (His will), you cannot discern Truth, and thus, you cannot differentiate if the voice comes from yourself, the devil or God.

This is why you see the so-called prophets, the prophetic people, men and women of prayer & intercession saying that they are hearing the voice of God, when they actually don't, because they do not know the Word and they miss His will (thus missing His voice).

Your theology affects your hearing greatly.

The Kingdom Impacts Your Democratic View

The Gospel of salvation merely meets the spiritual needs of people. It preaches a message of "Jesus died FOR you. Believe Him and you shall be saved (aka go to heaven after you die). But the same people who heard the Gospel of salvation are going through hell on earth when they struggle to live in this life, because their basic practical needs are not met. This is a powerless gospel.

The Gospel of the Kingdom not only meets their spiritual needs, but also their practical needs so that the Kingdom of heaven can be reflected on the earth. Jesus taught, "Your Kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven." It preaches a message of "Jesus died FOR you and AS you. Believe Him and give your life to Him so that He can live through you." And in order for Him to live through you to represent His Kingdom on earth, you will have all your needs met (Phil 4:19).

Jesus healed the sick, raised the dead, cast out demons, provided food, etc to meet the practical needs of the people while He preached the Gospel of the Kingdom. He was concerned with the society because people mattered to Him.

Your democratic view is largely affected by the way you understand the Gospel of the Kingdom.

Good Report

Good Report

On many occasions, people requested for the ministry of healing after they have done one of the followings:

1) Went for a medical test and they were waiting for the medical report to be out

2) Went for a medical test; the medical report was out and they were waiting for the surgery

This is when it gets tricky.

You went to minister healing for those in 1) and those in 2)

For 1), when the medical report is out, it will usually match the medical test which they did before they were ministered healing. Even when they were healed, the medical report would still show otherwise. When they heard the medical report, they immediately "dropped" the healing because the doctor's report appeared BIGGER than God's report.

For 2), as the doctor usually doesn't do another round of medical test right before the surgery, they go straight for surgery after being ministered healing. They "dropped" the healing because it needs faith, while going for surgery enables them to see the result immediately.

We should not be confused with the sequence if we want to see and experience healing. The difference lies in the report we believe in ---- the one written by God or the one written by the doctor.

Today is Good Friday. Jesus was nailed to the Cross so that we can be free from sin and sickness. This is the Good Report that we must hold firmly and dearly to.

Don't let the doctor's report be bigger than the report on Good Friday.

Judging God

The presence of sin and the reality of sin do not change the nature of God as the Righteous One.

The presence of sickness and the reality of sickness do not change the nature of God as the Healer.

God doesn't choose who to be righteous to because Righteousness is His nature. In the same way, He doesn't choose who to heal because Healing is His nature.

Whenever someone says "if God wills, He will heal", he worships a different god whose nature is not Righteousness and Healing. He judges who God is based on the presence & reality of sin and sickness, instead of judging the presence & reality of sin and sickness based on who God is.

Sarah should have judged God unfaithful because of her barrenness. She had past her age. But she chose to judge God faithful despite the reality of barrenness. She received what she judged Him for.

It is easy for you to judge God for whatever you are experiencing. But until you learn to judge Him for who He is regardless of what you are experiencing, you won't receive what He has prepared for you.

The Law and Grace

The Law exposes our sin, but Grace removes us from sin.

If there is Law without Grace, it will be condemnation (John 8:4-5).
If there is Grace without Law, it will bend the Truth and allow sin (John 8:6).

Jesus wrote with His finger on the ground (John 8:6), just as God wrote the commandments with His finger (Exo 31:18). He is the Law and He came to fulfill the Law (Matt 5:17). Yet He is also Grace (Titus 2:11) and He came to 'sozo' us (John 3:17).

The Law reveals sin (Rom 7:7), for apart from the Law, sin is dead (Rom 7:8). The Pharisees had their sins revealed, when Jesus wrote the Law on the ground. None of them dared to cast a stone on the woman.

Jesus was the only Man standing in front of the woman when all others had left, because He was without sin. The Law is perfect (ps 19:7). Yet He said, "Neither do I condemn you. Go and sin no more." Grace is more than enough (2 Cor 12:9).

Wisdom has the ability to marry Law and Grace. And Jesus is the Wisdom of God (1 Cor 1:24).

Jesus is both Law and Grace (John 8). He was the first husband who died, so that we could be married to the second husband (Romans 7). Jesus is both the first and the second Husband.

We died to the Law so that we could be married to Grace. Since Christ has become for us Wisdom (1 Cor 1:30), we have the ability to understand the Law and Grace. We have gotten the power to expose sin and be free from it.

Wrong Gospel, Wrong jesus

Wrong Gospel, Wrong jesus

We have probably read this passage so many times. Perhaps we've overlooked it. Maybe we didn't realise the contradiction in this passage. But it contains an important truth for us who share the Gospel in the streets.

They said, “๐–๐ก๐ž๐ง ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐‚๐ก๐ซ๐ข๐ฌ๐ญ ๐š๐ฉ๐ฉ๐ž๐š๐ซ๐ฌ, will He do ๐ฆ๐จ๐ซ๐ž ๐ฌ๐ข๐ ๐ง๐ฌ than this man has done?” - John 7:31

The people who believed in Jesus said these words, "When the Christ appears..."

This is ridiculous when you would have expected them to believe that Jesus is the Christ. Apparently, they believed in Jesus, but didn't believe that He is the Christ.

Signs and wonders led these people to believe in Jesus, without believing that He is the Christ.

Similarly, if you think that ministering healing, signs and wonders in the streets, and leading people to pray the sinner's prayer gets them born again, you are naive.

If you don't share the clear Gospel of The Kingdom, they will not have a clear knowledge of who Christ is. Without clarity, they WILL believe in the jesus you preach, but they are not believing in the true God Jesus Christ.

They will be like these people, "Yes, I believe in jesus! Oh but when the Christ comes, will He do more signs than these?"

Wrong Gospel, wrong jesus. Period.

Why Christians SHOULD Judge

Why Christians SHOULD Judge

1) Jesus is the Judge (2 Tim 4:1)
- Since we are to follow Jesus (Matt 16:24; 1 Peter 2:21) and manifest Him (Col 1:27), we should judge.

2) Jesus judges
- As I hear, ๐ˆ ๐ฃ๐ฎ๐๐ ๐ž, and My judgment is just, because I seek not My own will but the will of Him who sent Me. - Jn 5:30
- We judge, because He does

3) We judge NOT according to the flesh/human standards
- No longer, then, ๐๐จ ๐ฐ๐ž ๐ฃ๐ฎ๐๐ ๐ž ๐š๐ง๐ฒ๐จ๐ง๐ž ๐›๐ฒ ๐ก๐ฎ๐ฆ๐š๐ง ๐ฌ๐ญ๐š๐ง๐๐š๐ซ๐๐ฌ. - 2 Cor 5:16 GNT
- If we don't judge by human standards, then

4) We judge by people's fruits
- Therefore ๐›๐ฒ ๐ญ๐ก๐ž๐ข๐ซ ๐Ÿ๐ซ๐ฎ๐ข๐ญ๐ฌ you will know them. - Matt 7:20

5) Jesus told us to judge with right judgment
- Do not judge by appearances, but - Jn 7:24
- This corresponds to 1 Samuel 16:7. We don't judge by outward appearance.

6) Jesus told us to judge our own issue, before we judge others with regards to the SAME issue. He did NOT say that you should not judge
- Judge not, that you be not judged... first take the log out of your own eye, and - Matt 7:1-5

7) We will judge the new world
- Or do you not know that - 1 Cor 6:2
- We will judge angels (1 Cor 6:3) and the new world. What happens now is the practice period. We start judging on this present world.

The next time when you hear a Christian or preacher says, "We should not judge anyone", please correct him/her because it's not true according to the Word of God.

Changing The Approach for Young People

When one guy got his lower spine straightened and healed, his friend requested for his knee to be healed. But he couldn't test it as he would need to be sprinting up and down for a distance. It might not be appropriate as he was wearing jeans and people were walking up and down the bridge.

We did readings on him. Sometimes we get the name of the person. Sometimes it's vague. So we said that we saw the name with the letter 'R', he said, "Yes that's my name!" After the readings, he went to pull two more friends over for readings.

One of his friends came with fresh blisters at the back of both her heel areas. She wore a new pair of shoes. She got healed and exclaimed, "What the hell! What the hell! I didn't even expect it. I'm not even kidding. What the hell!"

On hearing that, the male friend whose knee was prayed for ignored the flow of people and disregarded the fact that he was wearing jeans. He started to sprint up and down the Clarke Quay area to test his healing. He was overjoyed.

A lady came with her family and she said, "I would like to ask questions about my career." We replied, "Don't tell us anything. You just take a seat."

After reading her, her SIL was exhilarated. She was read. Her husband, who insisted that he didn't want to be read, came back to be read.

One by one, those who initially appeared to be resistant and reluctant to be read surrendered to the goodness and grace of God, and took the step of faith to be read.

We had a lady who had her mail read. She was so excited that she became our saleswoman. She started to call out to the people around, "Guys, you should come and try this!"

Soon there was a queue.

People are hungry for spiritual things. Especially the younger generation. Maybe we should change the way we preach to them because preaching is not always about using the traditional pulpit. In fact, they might switch off when it's a one-way top down approach.

The world is changing. If we still stick to the old approach, we will lose the young people.

Gather OR Scatter?

Every year, by His grace, I get a better understanding of His Kingdom. I hope I did.

There is ONE important aspect that I discovered.

Regardless of our differences, opinions, perspectives, etc, the moment when anyone chooses to walk away from true Kingdom-minded people, he has chosen to scatter and he does not understand the Kingdom.

Over the past decade, I have encountered pastors, leaders, friends, etc. who talk/preach about the Kingdom, but do not understand the Kingdom.

It doesn't matter how much you think you know or how much you preach about the Kingdom. The moment you separate is the revelation that you don't comprehend the Kingdom.

Double Shalom

Shalom Shalom

I shared in a blog post about how resting destroys satan's works.

https://wilsonbarnabashealingmiracles.blogspot.com/2024/06/resting-destroys-satans-works-part-one.html

When you have peace, you rest. Jesus rested in the boat while the disciples wrestled in the storm. The reason Jesus had to wake up and rebuke the storm is for the sake of His disciples who were crumbling in fear.

I can comprehend that Jesus got up and rebuked the storm. I can imagine myself doing that. It's possible. Afterall, being awake and taking authority over something is not that difficult.

But what is beyond my comprehension is Him sleeping in the boat, while a perfect storm was present. Yes, we can talk about it. We can preach about it. But the heart of the matter is, "Can we DO it?"

Mark 4:37 says that the waves rushed into the boat and the water was filling the boat.

Yet the peace within Jesus is untouchable. The waves could not touch Him. He didn't need to wake up from His sleep to release that peace into the atmosphere. There was NO NEED to calm the storm and waves.

I can imagine the water and the waves surrounding Him, moving along the perimeter of His body as He was sleeping, BUT they could not touch Him. That's the kind of peace that surpasses ALL understanding.

I have been meditating on this for the past few days. It's still beyond comprehension. ๐–๐ก๐š๐ญ ๐ค๐ข๐ง๐ ๐จ๐Ÿ ๐ฉ๐ž๐š๐œ๐ž ๐ข๐ฌ ๐ญ๐ก๐š๐ญ?

If I were Him, I could hear the waves, the storm and perhaps the lightning. By the way, I'm a light sleeper. I could feel the whole boat in turbulence. How could I still sleep?

Mark 4:38 says that He was sleeping in the stern of the boat. The stern is meant for steering the boat, for stability and for navigation. For Jesus to sleep there, it speaks of His complete dominance, because the King of peace reigns over all.

But what kind of peace is that? It is beyond the shalom we say and know.

Isaiah 26:3 - You keep Him in (shalom) (shalom) ๐ฐ๐ก๐จ๐ฌ๐ž ๐ฆ๐ข๐ง๐ ๐ข๐ฌ ๐ฌ๐ญ๐š๐ฒ๐ž๐ ๐จ๐ง ๐ฒ๐จ๐ฎ, because He trusts in you.

This is a double shalom. He was sleeping there with His mind stayed on God. The word 'stayed' means 'to rest' in Hebrew.

As a father, I can recall times when baby J rested on my chest (bosom) to sleep. The world around him didn't matter. It's a kind of rest that trusts in the father's love. This produces double shalom.

Yes. I can talk about this. I can preach about this. But as I'm meditating on it, I wonder how to live this out. Because I'm jealous or rather, zealous for such Word-reality.

Part 2 - Sinner's Prayer Or Born Again

Part 2 - Sinner's Prayer Or Born Again

In Part 1, I shared that if we lead people to say/pray the sinner's prayer after the benefits (miracles/healing), they would perish without knowing Jesus, but if we share the Gospel of the Kingdom, they will get born again and receive eternal life.

Jesus said it to the Jews in John 6.

Do not work for the food that perishes, but for the food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give to you. - John 6:27

He further explained and drew the parallelism of this context with the patriarchs. They saw and experienced the miracle. They ate the supernatural gift of manna in the wilderness. Yet they died.

Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes has eternal life. I am the bread of life. Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, and they died. This is the bread that comes down from heaven, so that one may eat of it and not die. - John 6:48-50

This is why Jesus talked about working for the food that endures to eternal life (Jn 6:27) --- through believing (v29).

Don't confuse getting people to say/pray the sinner's prayer with getting them to be born again. They are not the same, unless you preach the Gospel of the Kingdom, so that they work for the food that endures to eternal life.

Sinner's Prayer OR Born Again?

Sinner's Prayer OR Born Again?

Do not confuse getting people to say/pray the sinner's prayer with getting people to be born again. They are not the same if we don't understand the Gospel of the Kingdom.

“Truly, truly, I say to you, you are seeking Me, ๐ง๐จ๐ญ ๐›๐ž๐œ๐š๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ž ๐ฒ๐จ๐ฎ ๐ฌ๐š๐ฐ ๐ฌ๐ข๐ ๐ง๐ฌ, ๐›๐ฎ๐ญ ๐›๐ž๐œ๐š๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ž ๐ฒ๐จ๐ฎ ๐š๐ญ๐ž ๐ฒ๐จ๐ฎ๐ซ ๐Ÿ๐ข๐ฅ๐ฅ ๐จ๐Ÿ ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐ฅ๐จ๐š๐ฏ๐ž๐ฌ. Do not work for the food that perishes, but for the food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give to you. - John 6:26-27

The people desired Jesus, NOT because they saw the ๐ฌ๐ข๐ ๐ง๐ฌ ๐ญ๐ก๐š๐ญ ๐ฉ๐จ๐ข๐ง๐ญ๐ž๐ ๐ญ๐จ ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐Š๐ข๐ง๐  ๐š๐ง๐ ๐‡๐ข๐ฌ ๐Š๐ข๐ง๐ ๐๐จ๐ฆ, but because they were ๐ฌ๐š๐ญ๐ข๐ฌ๐Ÿ๐ข๐ž๐ ๐›๐ฒ ๐ฐ๐ก๐š๐ญ ๐ฐ๐š๐ฌ ๐ฉ๐ซ๐จ๐ฏ๐ข๐๐ž๐ ๐Ÿ๐จ๐ซ ๐ญ๐ก๐ž๐ฆ. In other words, they purely wanted the temporal satisfaction/benefits WITHOUT submitting to His Kingdom.

Jesus told them not to go after the benefits as they would perish, but to go after Him (true food) who gives eternal life.

When we get people to say/pray the sinner's prayer after healing/miracles, we are getting them to go after the food that perishes instead of the food that endures to eternal life. That is not Christianity, but sensuality. Most believers are still doing that, because they follow man's tradition instead of Jesus' approach.

On the other hand, when we preach the Gospel of the Kingdom and His Kingship, when people respond and give their lives to the King, they are truly born again and receive the food that endures to eternal life.

Don't confuse the name of professed Christians with Christianity. They are not the same. Don't confuse sinner's prayer with being born again. They are not the same either.

Holy Communion

Holy Communion

The evangelicals view Holy Communion as a symbolic act. It's for remembrance (1 Cor 11:24-26).

The Lutherans and Methodists view Holy Communion as a spiritual act with the real presence of Christ. It's a sacrament (Matt 16:26-29; 1 Cor 11:27-32). The Lutherans believe in sacramental union where Christ is present with the elements.

The Catholics view Holy Communion as both spiritual and physical acts. We call it transubstantiation, where the bread and wine become the literal body and blood of Christ (John 6:51-56).

Personally, I believe in all of them. All are correct in their beliefs. All can be found in Scriptures.

"I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever. And the bread that I will give for the life of the world is My flesh... Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in you. Whoever feeds on My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day. For My flesh is true food, and My blood is true drink. Whoever feeds on My flesh and drinks My blood abides in Me, and I in him. -John 6:51-56

What is important is what we do during the Holy Communion. In a church service setting, Holy Communion is often rushed through without much consideration.

In the early Church, Eucharist (aka Holy Communion) was the central act of worship. The breaking of bread and the sharing of wine was central. Not your songs of worship, not your pulpit preaching.

It has since evolved to our modern church service setting.

Therefore, we need to do Holy Communion outside of the church service setting. Among a community or home group. Because it has been watered down so much into a small segment of a service.

In Communion, we must both celebrate and appropriate what Christ did with His body and blood, without which, we cannot receive the full benefits of the Cross. The 'zoe' life of God is in His body and the redemptive power of God is through His blood.

The true fellowship (koinonia - shared participation) of Christ with fellow believers doesn't happen at a coffee session or makan places. It happens through Communion.

At Communion, we individually and corporately participate in the life, sacrifice, death, resurrection and hope of Christ. It is not a 5 or 10 minutes' Scripture reading and eating/drinking. If we include prayer and meditation of the Body and Blood, it can take a long time.

Because we do not want to go through the motions. We want to release faith and appropriate what He has done. This is the moment where healing and health are released, providence, peace and goodness are released, and power over sins and divine protection are released.

While it is not the same as the Passover meal, parallelism can be drawn from it. The Israelites experienced amazing benefits of the Passover as they put their faith in God.

Let's take Holy Communion more seriously and restore it to its place.

What Do You Believe? Healing or Healed?

Jesus did not just remove sin from us. He removed us from sin.

If He merely did the former (1), we only received forgiveness. But we remain in the position of sin. We stay as sinners. And we continue to be bound by sin.

But Jesus also did the latter (2), so that we received Righteousness. We were removed from the position of sin. We have become the Righteousness of God. And we are free from sin.

In the same way, Jesus did not just remove sickness from us. He removed us from sickness.

If He merely did the former (1), we only received healing. But we remain in the position of sickness. We continue to get sick and need healing again and again.

But Jesus also did the latter (2), so that we received health. We were removed from the position of sickness. We have become the Healed of God. And we are free from sickness and disease.

The reason why we only experience (1) is because we don't believe (2). When we believe (2), our experience will line up eventually.

You Are Not Just Healed. You Are The Healed

You Are Not Just Healed. You Are The Healed

Salvation is not just about going heaven. It is about having heaven in you.

Salvation is not about a location. It's about a position. You are not just saved. You are the 'Saved' of the Lord. You are the redeemed one.

And if we understand that salvation includes 'healed, delivered, protected, preserved, made whole, kept safe and sound', then we will realise that healing is not an event, but a position.

He Himself bore our sin in His body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live for righteousness; by His stripes, you WERE healed. - 1 Peter 2:24

Jesus became sin (2 Cor 5:21) and died to sin (Rom 6:5, 10) so that we might die to sin (Rom 6:11) and become righteous in Him (2 Cor 5:21).

"By His stripes, you WERE healed." In the Greek, the tense used for the verb 'healed' is considered without regard for past, present, or future time.

In Isaiah 53:5, Isaiah prophesied "By His stripes, we ARE healed". In the Hebrew, the type used for the word 'healed' is perfect (qatal), which is considered as a single event.

While Isaiah was pointing to the specific event of Jesus' whipping that brought us physical healing, Peter pointed us to the reality that His whipping delivered the whole timeless position of healing to us.

In other words, as born again believers, we no longer get healed as an event. We were healed (past, present & future) as a position. We have become the 'healed' of the Lord.

If you are the redeemed of God, hell cannot touch you. For you have been delivered from that kingdom (Col 1:13a). You can no longer go to hell.

Therefore, if you are the healed of God, sickness cannot touch you. For you have been transferred to the Kingdom of Righteousness (Col 1:13b). You can no longer be sick.

Healing is no longer an event for you, unless you are not born again. Once you are born again, healing is a position for you. This means that you are the HEALED of God, and you permanently walk in that healed position where no sickness or disease can enter your body.

Eat Into Health

Eat Into Health

A man without Christ was able to eat his way into health. He knew that faith in God surpasses what he eats.

“Test your servants for ten days; let us be given vegetables to eat and water to drink. Then let our appearance and the appearance of the youths who eat the king's food be observed by you, and deal with your servants according to what you see.” So he listened to them in this matter, and tested them for ten days. At the end of ten days it was seen that they were better in appearance and fatter in flesh than all the youths who ate the king's food. - Daniel 1:12-15

The king's food during the Babylonian period was likely unclean according to the Law of Moses. One of the reasons the Law was given to the Jews is to set apart the nation of Israel from all other nations; to reveal the holiness of God.

Daniel was resolved to keep the Law (Daniel 1:8) by not eating the king's food. He put his faith in God, trusting that by eating vegetables, he and his friends would appear stronger, healthier and 'fatter in flesh' than all others.

The word 'fatter' in Hebrew means 'fat, or plump and healthier'. In the ancient Hebrew culture, fatness was a sign of blessing and prosperity. It was the mark of divine favour. Fattened animals were always selected to be offered to the Lord as offerings.

In the natural, if you only eat the 'seed of the ground' aka vegetables, you will not be fattened. Unless you are a cow.

But Daniel, by entrusting himself to God, walked in the supernatural at the end of 10 days. He didn't let what he ate affect his body. He let faith in God affect his body.

We are talking about a man without Christ. Today, you and I are in a far more superior covenant because of Christ. Avoiding this food and that food, getting obsessed with supplements and fearful of preservatives can only do this much to your body. In fact, it can make your body worse if the motivation is fear. Because fear always steals, kills and destroys.

Everything can be eaten when we eat in faith, entrusting ourselves to God. Because our body was bought at a price (1 Cor 6:20). It's not what you eat that defiles you (Matt 15:11; Christ came); every food can be good (1 Tim 4:4); preservatives cannot hurt you (Luke 10:19). God has all these covered, knowing the fallen world (1 John 4:4; 5:4).

I know alot of us experience the negative effects of eating unhealthily as we grow older. This is because our mind has been subconsciously filled with that idea given by older people and medical personnel. But your experience cannot change the Word. So it's better to let the Word change your experience by renewing your mind.

Therefore, the rule of the thumb is this:

If you cannot eat in faith, avoid it.
If you can eat in faith, eat it.
Your health doesn't come by you eating or not eating, but by faith in Him.

Warfare Victory

Warfare Victory

The enemy finds opportune time to war against the Kingdom of God. Since you are in Christ, you become the target. But the more you think it's about you, the more you can't see victory.

The war is not against you, but against the Kingdom of God. The enemy wants to make it personal so that you get affected and even discouraged. In other words, he will make the events/incidents personal to you, so that you forget about the Kingdom.

I'm going to start something in a day. I have committed to it.

Last night, all of a sudden, I felt a very familiar and sharp pain at the back near my pelvic. I could hardly get up from my bed to go to the bathroom.

My first thought was, "This is not possible. Because I was already healed so many years ago."

The next immediate thought was, "There is nothing new under the sun. The enemy can't stop me."

I didn't rebuke the enemy. I didn't command him to leave. I simply submitted to God and thanked Him.

Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. - James 4:7

You don't resist the devil by resisting him. You submit to God. The power to resist comes from your submission to who God is.

I fell asleep and had a dream. In the dream, I was witnessing to two staff at Starbucks, through healing and word of knowledge. Then I was sharing my healing testimony and the Gospel of the Kingdom to one of them.

I woke up from my sleep. All the symptoms disappeared. I just shook my butt (against the devil) in front of my wife as I shared with her what happened. And I reminded her, "Warfare is real. We don't take life as it is."

The kingdom of darkness wars against the Kingdom of God. You and I happen to stand in the way. But do not take it personal. Submit to God as His Kingdom is way bigger and way more powerful, compared to the minions.

If you get hit, you advance the Kingdom harder. You don't draw back or waste time resisting the devil. Because submitting to God will automatically cause him to flee.

The Interpretation of Tongues Part 2

The Interpretation of Tongues Part 2

Have you seen churches where one 'appointed' person (or two) would always release the interpretation of tongues during or after the worship segment?

While we should applaud the practice of releasing the prophetic to encourage, edify and bring comfort to the Body of Christ, having one or two appointed ones will develop spiritual pride, because it makes the rest seem unable to do so.

The manifestation of the Spirit is meant for ALL believers. If we don't empower believers, they don't become sons. They remain as slaves.

For you can all prophesy one by one, so that all may learn and all be encouraged... - 1 Cor 14:31

The Corinthian church was baby Christians according to apostle Paul. They were carnal and not mature believers. Yet most of them moved in the gifts of the Spirit, including speaking in tongues and interpretation of tongues. You can't be prideful in the area of the gifts of the Spirit IF everyone is able to do so. You are not special.

In a church setting, how do you know if someone interprets the tongues correctly? By having people (the Body of Christ) confirm it.

If anyone speaks in a tongue, let there be two or at the most three, each in turn, and let one interpret. But if there is no interpreter, let him keep silent in church, and let him speak to himself and to God. Let two or three prophets speak, and let the others judge. - 1 Cor 14:27-29

Since there needs to be proper order in a church setting, each time when (public) speaking in tongues is involved, let two or three speak in tongues, one person at a time, and let the Body of Christ interpret.

'...two or three prophets speak, and the others judge...'

By the count of two or three witnesses, a matter is established (2 Cor 13:1). This also works when (public) speaking in tongues is not in a church setting.

If there is no interpretation, according to verse 28, the person is to stop (public) speaking in tongues but he is allowed to speak to himself and to God (private tongues).

The interpretation of tongues is simple and it should be encouraged in the church. With two or three witnesses, you can confirm the message of the tongues.

The Interpretation of Tongues Part 1

The Interpretation of Tongues Part 1

Most of us pray in tongues but we seldom interpret the tongues as we think that it is either difficult or not possible.

But apostle Paul made it simple for us in his words. He wrote that the interpretation of tongues is as good as prophesying (1 Cor 14:4-5, 12-13).

In other words, interpreting tongues is similar to receiving a prophetic word from God. To put it more practically and in an extremely simple way, the way you prophesy is the way you interpret tongues.

Therefore, one who speaks in a tongue should pray that he may interpret. For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays but my mind is unfruitful. What am I to do? I will pray with my spirit, but I will pray with my mind also... (1 Cor 14:13-15)

The word 'unfruitful' in Greek is 'akarpos', which means 'any thought that is not born of faith'. Any decision that is not born of faith is fruitless.

When you pray in tongues, you are making a decision to yield your tongue to the Holy Spirit aka God. In other words, when you pray in tongues, you are in faith.

But you are NOT yielding your mind to God. This is why your mind is fruitless. Your mind can wander as those thoughts are not born of faith.

To interpret the tongues, you need to make the decision to yield your mind to God. In other words, you operate by faith to receive thoughts/images/words/visions from God the SAME WAY you prophesy.

Remember: Interpretation of tongues is NOT translation. It doesn't mean that you translate word by word. In other words, you can pray in tongues for 5 minutes and you get one simple message (prophetic word) out of it.

When you understand this, you will get extremely excited to pray in tongues all over again.

Rekindle this gift of the Holy Spirit that God has freely given to every believer.

Reproducing The Works

I shared the science of the power of memory with my son. He was exhilarated. He went to tell his mum.

Then he went to his room and did what I shared.

He simply recalled the memory when he first did it. The 20 cents got stuck.

Then he did the $1. It's still stuck there since yesterday.

If it's based on anointing, you need a certain man of God to do the job.

If it's based on principles, everyone can do it.

I am convinced that preaching from the pulpit probably moves only 5% of people into doing.

But if we demonstrate what we teach, we move a much greater percentage of people into reproducing the same works.

Jesus demonstrated His works to His disciples. He empowered them speedily. Because what you first caught in your memory will form the neural firing patterns needed for the next encounter when you recall back what was done the first time.

To disciple people, it takes demonstration, not preaching. This is why discipleship doesn't take place in a church service.

Perhaps, instead of spending hours and hours preparing a sermon every week that produces little result, we should spend hours and hours demonstrating so that it produces more fruit.

The Science Of The Power Of Memory In FAITH

The Science Of The Power Of Memory In FAITH

As I was spending time with the Holy Spirit today, He spoke to me about two things in faith.

Faith is empowered by a borrowed conviction (i.e. the people around the Samaritan woman) and a 'borrowed' atmosphere (i.e. Saul prophesying around prophets). I will expound this in another post.

I was reminded of a particular 'borrowed' atmosphere many years ago in a meeting. As I recalled the memory, I could feel faith charging up within me. I can't explain this in words.

So I put coins on the wall and I didn't say anything. I didn't expect anything. But I did an experiment. I simply recalled a memory of coin sticking to the wall.

Then the coin immediately got stuck to the wall (as shown in the photo attached).

I checked out science and realised how memory is connected to brain neurons in a powerful way that will re-activate your faith.

There is a neural firing pattern, when you form and recall a memory. When you form a memory, your brain stores it as a unique pattern of neuron firings.

Neural firing is the process by which neurons communicate with each other using electrical impulses and neurotransmitters. It's how the brain carries information about sensations, movement, motions, and memories.

When you recall a memory, your brain replays the same pattern of neuron firings. It re-activates it. In other words, sensations, movement, motions, etc are ALL re-activated together.

Your brain reactivates the neural firing patterns that were ORIGINALLY used to form the memory.

I believe this is strongly connected to FAITH! We can re-activate the SAME faith that was ORIGINALLY used to form certain supernatural events and miracles (in the memory).

By recalling the memory of coin sticking, the faith that was used to stick objects to the wall (defying gravity) was re-activated. Without saying anything, the miracle is repeated automatically.

Now, how is this going to affect healing and miracles?

When we recall our past healing and miracles WHILE ministering to the sick in front of us, I believe FAITH will be re-activated to repeat the same in front of us. Jesus!!!

P.S: Recalling a memory works differently from imagination. Imagination activates mirror neurons that are used in the real-life experience or during observation. The visual processing regions are more active when recalling memories than when imagining something. This is because recalling a memory reactivates the ORIGINAL perceptual experience.

Being Christ-Centred

Being Christ-Centred

To be Christ-centred means that you have to look away from yourself. It is to deny yourself.

Denying yourself is not self-denial. The latter is still about you because self-denial has to do with improving yourself through sacrifice. But denying yourself is to surrender your will and focus on His will.

It is Christ-centredness.

Very often, we teach about Christ-centredness in the area of character, which is the fruit of the Spirit. There is nothing wrong with that.

In recent years, some churches begin to teach about Christ-centredness in the area of power, which is the manifestation of the gifts of the Spirit.

Yet Christ-centredness applies in every practical aspect of our lives, not just in fruit and gifts. It's the whole Christian living.

This means that I stop looking at my bank account, and start looking at His bank account. This means that I stop looking at my expenses and start looking at His resources. This means that I stop looking at my circumstances and start looking at who Christ is.

In other words, if I step into a place that is expensive, I don't say, "That's expensive." Because it will be self-centred and not Christ-centred.

If I step into a place that is dirty, I don't say, "That's dirty." Because it will be self-centred and not Christ-centred.

The list goes on.

There is no breakthrough in any area where we are self-centred. It's like the pipe of Christ gets choked when we focus on self. But where we are Christ-centred, the life and power of Christ gets to move in and through the pipe freely.

God is teaching me personally that what I say in the secret place must be the same as what I say in the public place and in my interactions with others.

If we want breakthrough in our lives; first, change your word in the secret place and in the public place. Next, live Christ-centred in every area.

Intentionally stretch yourself to go to places beyond your ability so that you can walk out Christ-centredness by faith.

P.S: If someone invites you to a restaurant above your means, you say, "Thank You Jesus that the Cross has paid for it." Christ-centredness.

Self-Centred Prayer

If our prayer is self-centred, we can be praying to God and still be drawing the demonic into our lives.

Praying out of desperation never brings any good thing. It's the kind of prayer that the enemy loves to hear, so that he can come in and destroy further.

You don't receive what you pray for. You receive what you believe for.

Just because you pray does not mean that God has to answer you. Just because you fast does not mean that God has to answer you. Just because you go for prayer meetings does not mean that God has to answer you.
Just because you spend 3-4 hours praying everyday does not mean that God has to answer you.

And this is the confidence that we have toward Him, that if we ask anything ๐š๐œ๐œ๐จ๐ซ๐๐ข๐ง๐  ๐ญ๐จ ๐‡๐ข๐ฌ ๐ฐ๐ข๐ฅ๐ฅ He hears us. And if we know that He hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of Him. - 1 John 5:14-15

Every time when we pray out of self, we get answered by the devil.

God-things

We can be very busy doing good things but not doing God-things.

To do God-things, we have to spend time with Him. Apart from Him, we can do every good thing but not God-thing.

Jesus went about doing good, healing ALL who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him (Acts 10:38). We can see a few things from this verse.

1) Jesus focused on doing good.

2) Healing is always good.

3) Jesus healed all who were oppressed by the devil. This means that the root of every sickness and disease is an oppression of the devil.

4) Jesus healed ALL. Yet He didn't heal ALL throughout His ministry on earth. This means that He only healed ALL those who came to Him, as well as those whom He saw/met when He went about preaching in the cities/villages.

5) The reason Jesus didn't heal ALL everywhere is that He had to move on to where God told Him to visit/preach (Luke 4:43-44). This reveals that He wasn't busy doing good things but God-things.

He would depart from people at times to spend time with God so that He knows the God-things to do, instead of good things.

6) Since healing is always good, and that sickness is an oppression of the devil, to focus on simply doing good things and not God-things means that the devil has successfully drawn you away from God's assignments.

To put it in a practical sense, if I spend all my time ministering healing to the sick and not care about my wife and my son, not providing for them, not parenting my child, etc, the devil has succeeded.

Good things can distract you from God-things. Ministry is not when you are doing good things, but when you are doing God-things.

P.S: Sometimes, it's about washing the toilet bowls.

The Nature of The NT Prophetic

The Nature of The NT Prophetic

The nature of the prophetic did not change from the Old Covenant to the New Covenant. But the focus did.

In the Old Covenant, the prophetic pointed to the people's identity --- their relationship with God. Majority of the prophecies focused on repentance and returning to God.

In the New Covenant, the prophetic pointed to the identity of sonship. It focuses on encouragement, edification and d̵i̵r̵e̵c̵t̵i̵o̵n̵ comfort (1 Cor 14:3).

While the prophetic can sometimes be directional, it's not the main focus, because it ruins sonship and identity. People start going after prophetic words unsure instead of the prophetic Word made sure (2 Peter 1:19), which is the Word of God.

We were ministering at Clarke Quay to close the year 2024. Four young girls came. One of them came from Perth. We said, "We are seeing social justice on you. You are bold and you stand up for what is right. There is also creativity in you and you will blend social justice with creative means, breaking the traditional approach of using the laws. Are you studying law now?"

She nodded in amazement. "Yes, I'm studying law."

What if today's prophetic focuses on the intent of calling out identity? What if there is less instruction and more revelation of who the person is in the Kingdom?

What if the prophetic brings more empowerment than dis-empowerment? When we focus on identity, we always empower people. When we focus on direction, we always disempower people.

The whole chunk of epistles and the New Testament documented very few prophetic stuff as compared to identity stuff. This tells me one thing ------ God is more interested in us knowing who we are in Christ, than giving us directions.

When you know who you are, you will know your direction.
